We recently purchased this model to replace a 10-year-old refrigerator of the same model, which we loved. After living with this new one for a week, I cannot recommend it and wish we could return it. First, we had to wait 5 weeks for delivery, which was a substantial inconvenience. Second, the ice-maker motor on this model is FAR noisier than the older one. It runs frequently and is audible throughout the house. Third, I called Maytag customer service to inquire about the ice-maker noise. That was a waste of time. The rep evidently was used to such calls, as she did not even ask for the model or serial number but simply told me to "get used to it." Fourth, this model is even LESS energy-efficient than our 10-year-old model. How is that even possible???? Maytag used to be a good brand with a quality reputation, but those days appear to be long gone. We are sorely disappointed with this purchase and will not be buying any other Maytag appliances.

Loud compressor

I just bought MFI2269FRZ and the compressor is pretty loud compared to the 21 year old whirlpool ref I just replaced. Any way to quiet it some?

Love this French door model. We left one just like it in our home we recently sold, and needed this size once again due to kitchen lay-out. Love it just as much the second time around!
